In this seriocomic dialogue between an interlocutor and an imagined muse, the author attempts to re-contextualize for contemporary readers certain perennial philosophical, psychological, and spiritual predicaments of the human being. Language - its uses and limits - and the nature of perception, form the basis of the inquiry. Along the way, as the definition of`threshold'undergoes mutation, questions of identity, authenticity, responsibility and ethics are explored.
