Christopher Nolan's`Batman trilogy'in film, Batman Begins(2005), The Dark Knight(2008), and The Dark Knight Rises to be released in July, 2012, will ever remain as a grand-styled`epic,'along with thrilling stories, powerful performances, refined visual images, and nice and intellectual lines, in the history of American cinematography.The paper presented here is part of my series of preliminary essays for the full discussion on aspects of linguistic and cultural representation in The Dark Knight Rises, to appear after the release of the film, followed by the publication of the shooting script.
