これは賢治作品を地域のナチュラルヒストリーとして読み解く作業と、それを元にした地域環境計画へのアプローチの報告である。いわゆる"イギリス海岸"付近の地域環境計画を考えるにあたり、人文的ないし文化的背景との関連性に注目した。この地域の整備に関しては自然科学あるいは環境の学習の場としての役割を果たすような配慮をなすべきである。適合する保護区としては岩手県立自然公園花巻温泉郷の飛び地のかたちが妥当であり、この自然公園を生かした「野外教室」をつくることを提案する。

This is a reading and interpretation of the works of Kenji Miyazawa as a natural history of the region, and a report for a regional environmental planning based on it. We also considered the cultural background in relation to local environmental planning of so-called "Igirisu Kaigan (The English Coast)". The area should be improved to be a field study or an environmental study area. It will be appropriate to settle up the area as an enlarged separate part of the "Iwate Prefectural Natural Park : Hanamaki Hot-Spring Resort Park". A plan of "the field workshop" was proposed to utilize this zone.
