In order to find the issues of practice teaching at the faculty of education, Kumamoto University, 269 student-teachers rated self-evaluation of objective attainment in practice teaching (a total of 31 items) using a 5 -point scale, and wrote their opinions freely after practice teaching of senior, in June, 2003. As results of this research, some issues were found. The first issue was that while many student-teachers evaluated the worth while to be a teacher and wanted to become a teacher, some of them felt themselves not to be competent for a teacher. The second issue was that many student-teachers rated a high mark on their attitude and teaching behavior, but low marks on the student guidance and class management. The other issues were following : some student felt that a lecture and seminar at the college was not much connected with practice teaching, especially lecture and seminar on pedagogy and psychology for teachers were not. In addition to these issues, a few student-teachers indicated the anxiety for teaching and social interaction with pupils. These results suggest that a certain kind of remedial program to cope with the afore-mentioned issues should be needed before and after practice teaching.
