The purpose of this paper is :1) to analyze the influence of accepting one's Cognitive strategies (strategic optimism (SO), defensive pessimism (DP), unjustified optimism (OP), and regular/realistic pessimism (RP), and: 2) to consider the effects of psycho-education program on depression. In this study, 126 college students completed questionnaires and 6 students participated in the psycho-education program. The participants in the program were of the type DP or RP. They noticed that thinking pessimistically is not bad and accepted this way of thinking through the program. The participants understood the contents of the program well and all showed interest in it. After the completion of the program, a 2 week follow-up was done, the Beck Depression Inventory scores of all participants were down.
