Abstract

Text mining technology has been established in these few years, and becomes one of the significant tools for applying big data to various fields. However, the technology is not applied yet to the Japanese codices（ old text materials） in historical study. This paper describes how to establish the technology in historical studies and shows the result of the text mining using “Hojo Godai Ki”（ A chronicle of five successive Hojo rulers）, written by Joshin Miura who once was a warrior of the last ruler, Ujinao. The paper shows the result of word collocation network of person-person pairs, and person-place pairs.
