Description

In order to grasp the somatotype of junior high school students, we measured the heights and breadths of one-hundred and fifty boys and of as many girls photographed by means of the silhouetter, and examined their bodily proportion on the basis of their height and breadth so measured. The following are the results : (1) From the viewpoint of bodily proportion, the tendency of the hinder waist height and hip breadth of the girls to be girls to be greater than those of the boys was clearly recognized. (2) The correlation of the measuring value to stature of acromion height with that of biacromial breadth was hardly recognized, and as great individual difference was ascertained as regards shoulder form, it is necessary that we should observe closely each individual somatotype.
