- A Study on the Evaluation of the Brightness of Rooms with Different Facades : -The relationship between the Average Luminance of the Window and Evaluation of Opening and Closing of the Blinds-

Description
The purpose of this study is evaluation of brightness of various façade in the room. We took measurements of the natural lighting environment and evaluation of the brightness by the method of rating scale at the three rooms which have different façade. Each of the three rooms installed a horizontal louver (411room), a Fix window (412room), and a double skin (DS, 413room). 1) The horizontal louver (411) and the DS (413) has effect of the solar shading. However, in the three rooms daylight only enters near the window, the daylight factor is less than 3% in the center of the room. 2) Luminance of the window surface rises influence of clouds. The three rooms have large luminance contrast between the window and the surrounding wall, and cause discomfort glare. 3) It was found that the brightness and glare are increased or decreased depending on the luminance of the window. Although, the impression evaluation was decreased the brightness and the glare with materials of the solar shading and the inner blinds, the lighting environment comfort and the irregularity of brightness was decreased. 4) The average luminance of the window and the evaluation have a slightly correlation between brightness and glare. Especially the glare showed high correlation at blinds 45°. However, since the luminance changes instantaneously, there was a difference in the evaluation.
