Basketball is the game which goal is set at exact height, therefore taller player have definite advantage, and their performance make the difference in the game result. I have focused to center player’s first role as a scorer, and try to discover the developmental problem of Japanese center players. To evaluate those players’ performances, the author used game statistics, especially play times and individual points as the analysis tool in this study. In terms of those statistics, the author compared among top players (both JBL players and WJLB players) first. And then, the author also selected 4 players (2mens’ players and 2 womens’ players)The result of comparison of JBL players and WJBL players shows that their performance level is very low statistic in playing time and scoring. It is considered that, this result is because of the JBL’s employment of foreign players. One WJBL center player’s scoring has improved at top league than her college level performance. Other player showed no difference in those two levels. Both players has almost equal playing time in their two different level, which shows the evidence that they have maintained their playing time at different level of competition, and surmise that they were able to adjust to their expected performance. JBL players lost their playing time by big margin when they entered to top level compare to their college level, and also lost their scoring. From above result, WJBL Japanese center players get better as individual player, and as the league, they are successful to develop tall player in through their league games. On the other hand, Japanese men’s center players lose their playing time in the top league, which result to the less scoring opportunity.
