In mechanical and electrical systems, the study of self-excited oscillations is animportant problem from the point of view of applications. In this paper, the non-linear differential equation of a negative resistance oscillator (Esaki diode oscillator)is solved by the asymptotic methods of Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky without neglectting the resistance of the circuit.  An equation is derived to calculate the amplitude and frequency of the stationary self-excited oscillation that the oscillator generates. The calculated value is compared with the experimentally obtained data. The agreement is passable.
