喘息をもつ小児のQOLの現状について、属性で比較検討することを目的に、A県内の5病院に外来通院する10～15歳の喘息学童48名に対し、JSCA-QOL Ver.3を使用し調査を実施した。年齢・性別・重症度についてQOL得点の比較を行なった結果、小学生・中学生別QOL得点比較では、QOL総得点と「家族のサポート」の領域において小学生の得点が有意に高かった。性別QOL得点比較ではQOL総得点に有意な差はなかった。重症度別QOL得点比較ではQOL総得点に有意な差はみられなかった。「日常生活の変化」の領域において軽症持続型の得点が間欠型より有意に低かった。低得点群の特徴を見ると大半において「生活の充実感」の領域が低く、QOL総得点が低かった。10～15歳の学童期の特徴である、仲間と一緒でありたいと思う学童の気持ちを考え仲間との活動への参加ができるように援助し小児のQOLを高めることが重要であり、その結果生活の充実感が向上することが示唆された。

With the aim of comparing the quality of life (QOL) of children with asthma by their attributes, we conducted a survey using JSCA-QOL Ver.3 of 48 school-aged children with asthma 10-15 years old who were outpatients at five hospitals in one prefecture of Japan. QOL score was compared for age, sex, and severity of asthma. It was found in a comparison of elementary school and middle school students that the overall QOL score and score in the domain of "family support" were significantly higher for elementary school students. In comparisons of QOL score by sex and by severity of asthma, no significant differences were seen in overall QOL score. In the domain of "changes in daily life," the score of mild persistent type asthma were lower than intermittent type.Looking at the characteristics of the low score group, it was found that the majority had low scores in the domain of "satisfaction with daily life" and low total QOL scores. To improve the QOL of children with asthma, it is important to respect their feeling of wanting to be with their friends which is one of the characteristic of school-aged children, and to support them so that they can participate in daily activities as their friends do. As a result, it was suggested that this will raise their satisfaction with daily life.
