The crystal growth of the strontium sulfate precipitate particles were examined by using an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope, X-ray powder diffraction method. Strontium sulfate particles were precipitated through the stirring reaction of the precipitation from homogeneous solution (PFHS) method on the reaction times (0.5~6.0 h) by using strontium nitrate (16.7 x 10-3M) and sulfamic acid (16.7 x 10-3 ~ 83.5 x 10-3M) aqueous solutions at l00℃. The thin layer plate of lozenge crystal which was smaller than l0μm in the major axis formed in the beginning of reaction time and at low concentration of sulfamic acid (16.7 x 10-3M). With continuing the precipitation reaction, the former crystal particles grew quickly longer than 20μm. And then, the shape of them was transformed from the thick rectangular solid crystal of about 30μm to the lumpy type crystals of about 50μm~100μm which formed by the adhesion and aggregation of rectangular solid crystals of about 30μm. Further, the morphology of these crystal particles differed from the crystal particles obtained by the conventional method which by the used of the various precipitants of sulfate.
