Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) has high energy density and long life span, so various applications are expected as energy storage device such as for electric vehicle or electric power equilibrium, etc. However, device voltage limit is low, so it is necessary to connect in series or parallel. In addition, because of these it is necessary to use near around critical voltage limit or capacity limit. In order to apply them efficiently, the devices should be used in equiliblium. This paper proposes a novel voltage balancer by using CW (Cockcroft-Walton) circuit. Various modified circuit are considered and discussed.
