This paper examines the change of the local folk performance under the rapid economic growth period. The rapid economic growth of Japan from the 1953 to 1973 has greatly changed the people's life style. Concretely, the great change of the industrial structure has influenced to the life style from the agriculture to the second and the third industry. And the increasing of the urban population brought about depopulation in an agricultural area. This paper examines the change of Bitchu kagura performance under the rapid economic growth period using the account books written by the performer and the person's interview. Though the analysis of the date of the kagura's accounting books, I found out the age of high economic growth period, especially 1970 is one of the key times for Bitchu kagura. In the 1970, the Bitchu kagura which was only a folk customs in Okayama Prefecture was recognized as a national folk entertainments. The result of the authorization, Bitchu kagura which was declining because of depopulation collected people's attention, and found a solution to the problem of succession. But the other side, the problem about the "Quality" of the kagura performance was invented by the recognition about kagura's potential that can be used for sightseeing and city planning. The kagura's accounting books presented performer's realities at the age that Bitchu kagura changed greatly.
