Description

The purpose of this paper is to analyze peace and the disarmament diplomacy in the Nakasone Administration. The paper has seven sections. The first section takes a general view of the speculation in western countries that faces INF negotiation restart. The second and the third section prove the agenda setting of Japan to the unity of the western side. The fourth section and the fifth section discuss the restart of INF negotiation and the space arms talks. The sixth section takes up the discussion about the nuclear disarmament problem in the Japanese-Soviet summit. Finally, the seventh section reexamines a historical meaning of Japanese diplomacy to the U.S.-Soviet negotiation restart.
