Description
Immediately after World War II, the rainmaking (one of planned weather modification) technology of introducing the artificially generated aerosols (or ice particles) into clouds, bypassing the rate-limiting process which the mechanism in which natural clouds generate rain and snow has, and enhancing rain, appeared brilliantly, and is used at 40 nations in the world now. In this paper, while describing the principle, history and present state, and problems of rainmaking, the leading-edge trend of the planned weather modification researchis introduced.
