菅島は鳥羽超塩基性複合岩体（Nakamura 1971）の一部であり、島の西南部の蛇紋岩地帯にはいわゆる蛇紋岩植物といわれる貴重な植物が生育している。2017 年の調査（福田ほか2018）により、菅島南西部の採石場の上縁部に侵略的外来種として知られるオオキンケイギクの侵入を確認した。そこで、筆者らは2018 年6 月、オオキンケイギクの侵入状況の概要を調査し、部分的な駆除を行った。本研究ノートでは調査結果を報告し、菅島のオオキンケイギクへの対策と蛇紋岩植物の保全について考察する。

Sugashima Island is a part of Toba ultrabasic complex (Nakamura 1971), and in serpentine zone, located in SW part of the island, we can see endemics and other rare plants typical for this zone. During our expedition of the island in 2017 (Fukuda et al. 2018), we found invasion of an aggressive alien plant Coreopsis lanceolata L. at the upper edge of quarrying. In June 2018, we visited the island to exterminate C. lanceolata and survey the extent of invasion. In this paper, we describe the result of our survey and discuss the method to prevent the alien plant from serpentine vegetation in the island.
