説明

There are three issues regarding forced mobilization from the colonial Korea during the World WarⅡ in Asia-Pacific region. They are : (1) Forced deportation; (2) Forced Labor; (3) Ethnic Discrimination. The purpose of this paper is to consider the some aspects of the relations between the total war and the mobilization of labor from the colony. I will consider what forced labor and ethnic discrimination might mean under the total war regime. Based on overview of the actual situation and background of labor mobilization from Colonial Korea in Wartime, I will clarify what it is not appropriate to approach ethnic discrimination from the wage gap between Korean laborers and Japanese as a surface statistical indicator, but we should approach from historical materials of the discriminatory labor management of the company. At the beginning of the forced mobilization from the Koran Peninsula, extremely discriminatory labor management was performed, but such discriminatory labor management actually lowered productivity. Thus the labor management was improved in big companies. I will examine what results were brought, being installed bit by bit the change of the labor management into a total war regime.
