幅射加熱装置による高温構造本試験に先立ち,最も問題となる高温での歪測定に習熟し,熱応力の算出を検討しておくため,市販の3種の高温用歪ゲージ(国産KP, MTゲージとBaldwin FNHゲージ)について予備的試験を行なった.歪ゲージ自身および数種の材料に貼付した歪ゲージの温度変動に伴う零点移動を測定した.多少の誤差を許容すれば,数回加熱サイクルを繰り返した後には零点移動は大体温度に比例し,その比例常数αは,既に池田・三浦両氏らにより指摘された如く,α=α_0+α_m (α_m;被貼付材料の線膨張係数)と2成分に分けられ,α_0は各種ゲージで一定値をとるが,その値は抵抗線の物理的常数のほかに,ベース材料や接着剤などにも大きく依存することがわかった.また高温での歪ゲージ率の低下について測定した.FNH, MTゲージは実用に供し得るが,さらに改善の必要のあることがわかった.

Some preliminary experiments on strain measurements with three kinds of commercial high temperature strain gages were carried out prior to structural experiments at elevated temperature. The zero shifts with temperature of strain gages themselves and bonded on several kinds of materials were measured. The scatters between each of gages are large and the linearities of zero shift versus temperature curves are not good presenting large hysteresis loops, which suggest the necessity of more improvement in high temperature strain gages. If some errors are tolerated, however, zero shifts are considered to be approximately proportional to the temperature after several heating cycles and these proportionality constants can be divided into two parts as pointed out previously by Prof. K. Ikeda and Mr. K. Miura, that is, α=α_0+α_m where α_m denotes the coefficient of thermal expansion of bonded material and α_0 is found to take a nearly constant specific value depending on the physical properties of resistant wire or foil as well as the base material and the adhesive cement. Furthermore, the variations of gage relative sensitivities or gage factors were measured in the temperature range up to about 250℃. The MT gages of Japanese product decreases gradually with the increase of temperature, while the Baldwin etched foil gages do not show a remarkable decrease.
