Abstract
Ferromagnetic metals such as Ni, Co and Fe were electrodeposited from aqueous solution into polycarbonate membrane filters with numerical cylindrical nanopores to fabricate the magnetic metal nanowire array. With increasing cathode potential to the maximum of -1.2 V, growth rate of the nanowires increased up to around 30 nm・sec-1. Aspect ratio of nanowires reached up to around 120 and the cylindrical shape was precisely transferred from nanopores to nanowires. Magnetization curves revealed that the nanowires were spontaneously magnetized to the long axis direction and the coercive force reached to the maximum of ca. 1 kOe.
