Description

“Power harassment” is one word of Japanese combination of English words for harassing behavior by someone in position of authority toward his or her subordinates in the workplace. More than 30% of employees in Japan have experienced “power harassment”. Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan has been taking steps to prevent it and made some laws. Now, companies are obliged by laws to make some rules about harassment and carry out investigation proceeding. This paper aims to discuss about those issues of Japanese laws which are Labor Measures Comprehensive Promotion Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Act and so on about sexual and power harassment of workplaces.
