The purpose of this article is to report the findings of various medical resources in Lao P. D. R. Many studies and practices of health care of Laos have based on the medical system focusing on only biomedicine through modern developmental gaze. However such system is not proper because Lao people have practiced various health cares such as self care and folk one. Examining the medical ethnographic findings of the rural area of lowland Laos, various medical resources are described and the basis for appropriate understanding of Lao medical system is presented.
