Description
As we get older, mental and physical functions decline and the symptoms worsen, we are forced to be admitted to a medical institution or long-term care facility to receive medical care or long-term care. Under the sesituations, the practice of physically restraining the elderly by nurses in these facilities has been sued. 【Object】 This paper searched what nurses should do nursing based on dignity through First Supreme Court case. 【Result】 Physical restraint takes away the patient's dignity Nursing without restraint based individual dignity is (1) nursing that respect and meet patient's will (2) Dignity-based nursing that relies on the identity of the elderly (3) to make relationship between a patient and a nurse based on patient's dignity. 【Conclusion】 To seek nursing without restraint means nursing that nurses face one patient/resident seriously, respond to personality and try to respect the will of the person. These will lead to nursing based on dignity
