Moonshot Research and Development Program, an ambitious new program started by the Japanese government, aims at solving issues facing future society. For this purpose, nine goals, called Moonshot goals, are set in the area of society, environment, and economics. This article focuses on the ninth goal of the Moonshot goals, “[r]ealization of a mentally healthy and dynamic society by increasing peace of mind and vitality by 2050," and argues that Virtual Reality environments simulating (i) death as reported by near-death experiencers and those undergoing “death" in their past lives under a hypnotic regression therapy; (ii) life-between-life states as reported by children with memories of before conception; and (iii) past lives as reported by children with past-life memories will provide possible solutions.
