Description
The mechanical and physical properties of spheroidal graphite cast iron are strongly influenced by the graphite shape when matrix structure is the same. Therefore, the measurement of graphite nodularity, which evaluates the roundness of graphite, is a very important evaluation standard. Recently, image processing technology has been developed and inexpensive image processing software is on the market, so it is often used. However, it is note that the measurement method for image processing differs depending on the software. Furthermore, the method of calculating the graphite nodularity using image analysis has some problems. Therefore, examined the difference in measured values caused by image processing software and established a measurement method that doesn’t cause human error.
