喜多村緑郎とは，明治から昭和にかけて活躍した新派劇の役者である．日本大学文理学部では喜多村緑郎に関する演劇資料と日記のデータベース化を進めている．新派劇に関するデジタルアーカイブ化の問題点は，台本画像のデータベース化が進んでいないことである．喜多村緑郎文庫では，それを進めていくと同時に，台本，上演年表，新派脚本集，喜多村緑郎日記を有機的に結びつけ，衰退傾向にある新派劇に関する興味を活性化させると同時に研究の進展を促すために，幅広いユーザを想定しながら専門的な研究者のニーズにも応えることができるよう，多面的な利用が可能なホームページを作成した．

Kitamura Rokuro is one of most popular actors from the end of the Meiji era to the beginning of the Showa era viz. from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. In Nihon university, there has been a project to make digital libraries and we have implemented a web-based computer system for Kitamura Rokuro's theatrical materials, diary, and so on. He is well known as a contributor to the development of Shinpa, often translated as "New School Theater" refers to a theatrical genre born in Meiji Japan. But, research of Shinpa is late coming because of the difficulty and tediousness of collecting and filing materials. In order to improve such an inefficient situation, we digitized Kitamura Rokuro's theatrical materials and propose multifaceted and comprehensive approaches. We expect our approaches help general user to attract their interest, the research of Shinpa specialists, and the development of Shinpa.
