Description
Internet survey data about the opposite sex that we have the most favor in our daily lives was analyzed. The data were for 518 males and 606 females in their 20s to 40s. In general, men want women with high aesthetic attractiveness, and women want men with high social status and economic power. But it is questionable whether these attractions affect love, relationship satisfaction and happiness. Multiple regression analysis was performed. As a result, it was found that the aesthetic attractiveness of women has no influence on lover relationships and marriage relationships. In addition, social status and economic power are important in distant male-female relationships where relationships with the partner are not established, such as friendships, unrequited love, and love affairs relationships. But in marriage relationships, on the contrary, partnerʼs high social status and economic power were found to be a factor that hinders love for the other person, and satisfaction with relationships, and happiness. In lover relationships, engagement relationships, and marriage relationships, the factors that promote love, relationship satisfaction and happiness with the partner are the“ sexual attraction,”“ social attraction,” and “interpersonal attraction” of the partner.
