"Eiko Nichireki" and "Eiko Jitsuroku" and other official records cover in detail how Yorishige Matudaira, the first Sanuki Takamatsu-han daimyo, acted since he moved to Sanuki Takamatsu. In this paper, consideration is given to the significance of Yorishige's frequent cormorant fishing and falconry in terms of the history of the political culture as well as the analysis of his characteristic behavior as a ceremonial symbol. Moreover clarification is given to the ways the relocated daimyo in the Edo period controlled his territory, got legitimacy for his ruling infiltrated there, and built the foudations of his feudal administration.
