The 54th Fluid Dynamics Conference / the 40th Aerospace Numerical Simulation Symposium (June 29 - July 1, 2022. Iwate Citizen Information Exchange Center (Aiina)), Morioka, Iwate, Japan
The spatial filtering of LES is indirectly controlled by the grid width, numerical dissipation, and SGS model. To understand how each of these factors affects the quality of LES results, it is necessary to evaluate them separately. In our previous study, we evaluated the effect of numerical dissipation on ILES using upwind biased interpolation. The effect of SGS model was also briefly investigated, but the contribution of numerical dissipation was not clearly separated from that of SGS model. In this study, we would like to evaluate how the SGS model works by itself without the effect of numerical dissipation by minimizing truncation error by introducing central differencing interpolation.
