抄録

本稿の目的は，筆者がこれまで行ってきた元禄から享保期の上層民を対象とした経済思想史研究の論点を整理し，それをまとめるための視角を設定することにある。本稿では，江戸時代の実務家の経済思想史研究の流れの中に本研究を位置付け，元禄・享保期に着目する理由を明らかにした上で，経済思想史研究と書物の社会研究史の架橋となるような視角として，当該期の実務家の思想の中に「作為」の意識を析出するという枠組みを設定している。それを踏まえて，当該期の上層民に「自然」なものと認識されていた社会観・経済観を概観する。そして，元禄期に萌芽的に見られた「作為」の意識が，幕府の制度変更に対応・対抗する形で成長していく過程を，田中休愚の事例を中心に考察している。 I have, in the last three years, published several papers concerning economic thoughts of upper town people from GENROKU to KYOHO period. This paper aims to review main points of these papers and constitute a study framework for this theme. In the first part of this paper, I will survey previous studies of history of economic thoughts and will try to position my study into them. I assume that in economic thoughts of upper town people in these periods, we can detect personalities which allowed them to adapt themselves to changes in society and economy they faced. They also tried to take ingenuity and intentional activities to improve their domestic economy and then their local economy.
