Abstract

Five species of decapod crustaceans ranging in two infraorders, Caridea and Anomura, were collected by a kind of whelk pots off Shimane Prefecture, the Sea of Japan. They are Eualus middendorffi Brashinikov, Lebbeus polaris (Sabine), Pagurus rathbuni (Brandt), Pagurus undosus Benedict and Elassochirus cavimanus (Miers). Among them L. polaris is new to the Sea of Japan between Hokkaido and Yamaguchi Prefectures.
