Dynkin indexとは，複素単純Lie代数の間の各準同型に対してルート系の言葉を用いて定義される非負整数であり，Dynkin[3]によって導入されたものである．本原稿では，Dynkin indexのある種の自然な一般化として，非コンパクト実単純リー代数の間の各準同型に対して，制限ルート系の言葉を用いて非負整数（ここではsplit Dynkin indexと呼ぶことにする）が定義できることを紹介する．またDynkin indexの持つ様々な性質のうち，いくつかの重要な性質はsplit Dynkin indexについても成立することを紹介したい．
