Description

This study aimed to examine the thoughts of students receiving online health practice delivered by public health nurses at a practice facility. In addition, the differences and similarities between online on-campus practice and online complement practice were investigated to identify the information and techniques that could only be learned via in-person training sessions with public health nurses. The results revealed three categories of content that the students anticipated learning: “community health activities,” “actual activities of public health nurses,” and “abilities and ideas of public health nurses.” The differences between online and online complement practice fell into three categories: “specific activities”, “stories of actual public health nurses,” and “roles of public health centers.” Similarities appeared in four categories: “basics of health activities,” “organizational cooperation,” “dealing with the target population,” and “community health activities.” Interacting with working nurses allowed the students to see the real-life applications of their courses. Moreover, the students now consider nurses as role models for their future careers.
