This study organizes the historical development and issues of policies for people who need hous ing support in Japan. Focusing on the situation in Kagoshima Prefecture from various statistical data on the hospitalization situation in psychiatric hospitals. In particular, we will organize mul tiple practices in housing support in Kagoshima Prefecture, and organize the current situation and issues of housing support for people with mental disabilities. It mentions the usefulness and significance of the future development of community-based and private-sector support for the regional transition of people with mental disabilities to the community, which has tended to be limited to welfare services for persons with disabilities.
