Description

The novel coronavirus infection （COVID-19） spread worldwide from 2020 and had a significant impact on society and economy. In such a situation, the web became an important medium for information dissemination and transmission, and various contents were created. However, web contents is often updated or disappears, so web archives are needed to preserve it for the future research. This study investigate international cases of building web archive collections on COVID-19, and analyzes their purposes, methods, challenges and prospects. Specifically, we target major organizations and projects such as the Internet Archive（ IA）. The purpose of this study is to clarify the current situation and challenges of building web archive collections about social impacts of COVID-19, and to provide future directions and recommendations.
