Abstract
On November 5th and 6th, 2022, Higashiosaka City hosted the "HANAZONO EXPO" event. This event aimed to boost enthusiasm for Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai and have some economic impact. While the initial expectation was 20,000 attendees, the actual turnout reached 70,000 visitors. It's safe to say that this event met its goals and concluded successfully. In this paper, we estimate that hosting the HANAZONO EXPO generated an economic ripple effect of 420 million yen in Osaka Prefecture and 160 million yen in Higashiosaka City using input-output tables. Due to limited data on visitor expenditures, we based our estimates on similar past events. It's clear that there are challenges ahead, such as improving accuracy through methods like conducting direct surveys with event participants, among other tasks for the future.
