For many years, global warming has been a hot topic in Japan, and approximately several hundred petajoules of heat is wasted annually. It is clear that if this heat can be converted into electrical energy, it would contribute to an energy saving and global warming countermeasure. For this reason, various research institutes are actively working on thermoelectric conversion technology using Seebeck elements, but it is difficult to say that its social implementation is progressing. In this paper, we report on the current status of thermoelectric conversion technology using Seebeck elements and its challenges. In addition, we touch on the possibility of its application to muon fusion research, which is currently underway at our university.
