Description

This paper focuses on the adult video actors specializing in bukkake (also called as “creepy men”). They are portrayed as subordinate men, forming a homosocial relationship with the director who embodies hegemonic masculinity. By depicting this homosociality, the director defends the authority of hegemonic masculinity while responding to social and media changes. On the other hand, they are tested to see if they can assume the role of the subordinate men without being angry. In addition, they are portrayed as eager for recognition of their own worth by assuming the role of the subordinate men. Through these depictions of homosociality, these adult videos defend the authority of hegemonic masculinity by involving a variety of masculinities.
