ダイナミック・ケイパビリティ論において，Teeceがオーディナリー・ケイパビリティとダイナミック・ケイパビリティの区別を行ったことの妥当性を巡る理論的対立に対する明確な答えは，いまだ出ていない。本研究は，批判的議論という概念に着目することで2つのケイパビリティの差異を明確化し，この問題に対する解を示すことを目的としている。 Popperによる批判的合理主義に基づく知識成長論を踏まえて，2種類のケイパビリティと批判的議論の関係は以下のように分析できる。オーディナリー・ケイパビリティは特定の事業パラダイム内で利益最大化のための暫定的解決を示すことから，批判的議論の対象となるより低次の能力である。一方，ダイナミック・ケイパビリティは，その暫定的解決に対する経験科学的および非経験科学的な批判的議論を行って新たな問題を示すより高次の能力である。ゆえに，2つのケイパビリティの差異を認識しつねに批判的議論を行うことによってのみ企業は知識の成長を実現できることから，2つのケイパビリティを区別すべきであるというTeeceの主張の妥当性が示された。 In the dynamic capability approach, conflicting opinions exist regarding Teece's claim that dynamic capabilities and ordinary capabilities are distinct in nature. This study aims to resolve this theoretical conflict by focusing on the concept of critical discussions. Specifically, based on Popper’s methodological model, organizational capabilities can be analyzed as follows: ordinary capabilities represent lower-level capabilities as objects of critical discussions, whereas dynamic capabilities constitute higher-level capabilities as subjects of critical discussions involving value judgments. Therefore, Teece's claim is valid because critical discussions based on the distinction of two types of capabilities are essential for the growth of knowledge.
