Abstract

This study aims to clarify generation mechanisms of inclined cable aerodynamics, such asvortex-induced vibration at high reduced wind velocity, rain-wind induced vibration, galloping and so onby field observations using full scale cable model. A large amplitude vibration was observed understrong wind and heavy rain condition, and then, its type of vibration is discussed. Also, wind tunnel testswere conducted and the mechanisms of inclined cable aerodynamics are considered.
