Abstract

At the northernmost place of Tsushima Island (Toyo) and two sites in Asou Bay of Tsushima Island (Mikata and Takeshiki), Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, distribution of bivalve-inhabiting hydrozoans was surveyed in January, 2012. Both Eutima japonica Uchida and Eugymnanthea japonica Kubota, that were associated with Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, were found at the northernmost place, only less than 50 km from a coast of Korea where such hydroids have not been found. GFP distribution of mature medusa of the intermediate form of Eutima japonica, that is a precocious form and very restrictedly distributed in Japanese waters, was firstly described, showing the same GFP pattern as that of the northern form.
