The instance of Ganou, being a branch of Miao in southwest China provide us an opportunity to explore kinship constitution and ancestor ritual, which is grounded on the process from non-state society to the stage of state periphery. In this paper, some discords in the kinship ideology of agnatic descent in Ganou's community are drawn out to be into consideration, which is separated from the kinship organization, and a few observations are concentrated on the concerning between segmentary line age and plural object of worship or instrument in ritual in village community. The analysis here is generally based on the context of ethnic conceptions and enlightened by the theory of human agency, as may lead to a complacent accounting for Ganou's ancestor ritual which is full of individually anomalous' behavior. Thus, a kind of historical and 'individual' perspective would be expanded for the research of kinship and ritual.
