抄録

本稿は，現代のサラリーマン社会において当然視されている，単一生業によって生計を営むという見方の相対化を試みようとするものである。従来のように，稲作農民や漁民という，あたかも人々が単一の生業によって生活しているかのような見方を再検討する。同時に農村，漁村，山村という村落類型も見直す。漁業のみをやっている村などほとんどないわけであるし，また稲作だけを行っている村もやはりないわけである。近世期に各地域には，自然環境の影響を強く受け，各地域特有の様々な生業を複数組み合わせた生業構造が存在していたのである。特にこれまでの経済史研究にあっては，前近代社会の人々にとって大きな意味を持った自給的生業を無視しがちであった。そこで本稿では，現在，貧しい漁村であるとか，稲作単作地域であるとみなされている地域を取り上げ，その多様な生業の存在を確認してみた。 　そして結果として，両地域において，自給的なものも含めて，多様な生業の存在を確認できた。

I have tried to relative analysis that the older generation eked out a living by only business. I want to reassess the type of rural because I cannot find rural which has run only fishing or only rice cropping for a living. There were various characteristic businesses in early modern rural areas. I want to pay attention to self-sufficient business which was crucially important for early modern rural people. Also I wanted to confirm the existence of diverse business in areas which were generallycredited with poor fishing village or rice-growing village. 　As a result, I found the existence of diverse business including self-sufficient business in both areas.
