The author, who is a former researcher at National Institute of Multi-Media Education, Japan Ministry of Education, and a practitioner of AV material-based education for 10 years, examines some practical matters to be considered when using various types of AV materials. A small classroom research on how students perceive these AV materials is conducted, and the result is examined. The author concludes that students seem not to clearly distinguish among SD quality videos, even though their sizes and fps rates are very different.
