With this thematic material, it is expected that pupils will sense numerous aesthetic properties from the characteristic featuresof the mode of expression, and use them as a guide to divining the painting's motif. A technique of analyzing the rich and diverseaesthetic properties of the painting allows aspects of art-appreciation ability to be structuralized. Assuming this to be the case,it then becomes possible to develop a logic for effective teaching. In this study involving thematic practice, as a conduit to the ultimate goal of sensitivity to motifs, pupils acquired an awareness of the importance of aesthetic properties identified from features of the expressive approach. As a special quality of this thematic material, aesthetic properties were structuralized through combination, and of 154 pupils, 100(64.9%) were made aware of contrasting aesthetic properties. The realization that this would make sensate grasp of the motif more certain than simple sensitivity to the aesthetic properties means that this theory can be utilized in future instruction.
