P(論文)

We investigated the details of development of the Hondo building plan of Jodo Shinshu temple throughout historical documents. Then, we surveyed the planning and elements of Hondo floor plan in the case of 53 branch temples of Bingo Region, and examined the remodeling of floor plan in the case of Hondo rebuilt or extended, the measurements evaluation of inner temple and the chief priest's request for Hondo in the case of 45 temples. (1) The Doujo style had started to change the temple style after the operation of the low of katana hunting, and the installation of Gohai, a dais for a Buddhist image and so on had needed the permission of the head temple in those days. (2) Hondo floor plan is nearly the left-right symmetry and it composes of the inner temple, Yoma, the seating area, veranda and so on. The most of floor plans are 6 ken in the width of seating area and the most of inner temples are over 3 ken wide and 2 ken deep. (3) The rebuilding and extension tend to widen the depth of inner temple and to expand the seating area. The dimension of inner temple that chief priests didn't feel a cramped is clarified. Some chief priests have problems on a beauty of Hondo, a storing space, a barrier-free for the elderly visitors and so on.
