Description

A Rh-6G dye laser was activelymode-locked by synchronously pumping with a frequency-doubled mode-locked Nd3+ glass 1aser.The pulse width was measured by optical Kerr shutter and CARS after matching the cavity lenth between the pump and dye lasers. The dye laser pulses were a1so observed by a streak camera of 8 psec resolution. The output light intensity and polarization were measured as functions of the pumping power and dye concentration. The laser pulse width decreased down to minimum value of 18 pses the degree of polarization increased up to maximum value of 0.75. The addition of DODCI as a turable absorber enhanced the degree of polarization up to 0.85.
