Abstract

The research aims to survey the regional characteristics of the industrial employment structure and its transformation mainly by the viewpoint of prefecture. The main conclusions are as follows:1From 1965 to 2000, the variation among prefectures became very small at both the primary industry and the secondary industry but the third industrial variation among prefectures hardly changed; 2The industrial employment structure type of 46 prefectures shifted from Resource general type to Average type and further to third industry type; 3[Resource type→Third industry・Resource type]is most in all kind of the conversion types, and mainly distributes to Kyushu,Shikoku and Chugoku District.
