説明
The Philippines is a multilingual country having at least 80 languages with Filipino the national language and Filipino and English the official languages. Many people there use English and their English proficiency level is generally high. They often use unique English called Taglish or Engalog. I conducted three experiments on whether or not Japanese examinees can deal with four model dialogs; two of them written in bald Taglish and the other two, in more sophisticated Taglish, and found that they managed to deal with the former two and were able to deal with the latter two fairly well. In this article, I will review some literatures on Taglish, report on the said three experiments and discuss implications of the results.
