Yin　VVenzi（『ヂ文子』）is　an　indispensable　classic　for　the　study　on the　thought　of“ming（名）”in　ancient　China．　It　is　because　that　there are　a　lot　of　statements　about“ming”．　Especially　it　intensively　argued the　political　thought　about“ming”．　Besides，　its　thought　of“ming”i sn’ 煤@an　only　doctrine　of　a　school，　it　stands　aloof　from　schools，　that　is， the　school　of　ming，　the　school　ru（儒），　the　school　of　fa（法），　the school　of　dao（道）（the　school　of　Huang－Lao（黄老）），　and　it　broke down　the　difference　of“fact　judgment”and“value　judgment”．　There a「eve「y　few　classics　like　this　in　the　pre－Qin　and　Qin－Han　period．　Until now，　many　scholars　have　studied　Yin　Wenzi　from　the　standpoint　of linguistics　or　logic．　Though　we　can’t　say　that　there　are　no　studies from　the　standpoint　of　politics，　they　weren’t　systematic．　This　paper tries　to　systematically　study　the　thought　of“ming”in　Yin　VVenzi especially　from　the　standpoint　of　politics．
